Halil Burak Sakal holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, an MA and a PhD in the International Relations fields. His academic works and research interests are historical and contemporary political and environmental issues in the former Soviet Union, especially in Central Asia. He conducted fieldworks and projects on the political economy of water, electricity, and natural resources. Currently, he is the Chairperson of the Political Science and International Relations Department and the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at the Cappadocia University.
