Dr. Sci Toni Gjorgiev is Associate Professor of Law and also, he holds position of General Secretary at the Military Academy “”General Mihailo Apostolski”” in Skopje, associate member of Goce Delchev University Shtip. He is teaching several subjects from the social sciences including international military and humanitarian law, globalization and security, military diplomacy and international law, and international relations. He has been working for more than 23 years in the Ministry of Defense, from 1994 to 2009, working in the Special Operations Regiment of several duties as the commander of an anti-terrorist team, a raiding team and a commander of an independent company for protecting VIP personalities, the latter being a Legal Affairs Advisor. In 2009, Dr. Toni Gjorgiev, with the decision of the Teaching-Scientific Council, was elected Secretary, and in 2013 as a teacher at the Military Academy “”General Mihailo Apostolski”” in Skopje, where he still works. In addition to regular work obligations, he is active in several foundations and non-governmental organizations in the field of human rights.
In the framework of the realization of his regular duties, the candidate participated in several international missions and international conferences in the field of international military law. In 2004, he completed a 4 month study visit in Canada, where he also studied the English language, and in 2007 he also realized a three-week study stay in the area of International Humanitarian Low, Operational Low and Human Rights Low in Austria. In 2016 he visits the United States of America (Washington, New York, New Jersey and Newport), where he was more closely acquainted with crisis management and legal regulation with their operations. He has published several works and publications, and works on several international projects.
